Stinging snail by hontor Stinging snail by hontor
Illustrations for World tour to Neocene

This project is dedicated to speculative biology (futurobiology) and includes descriptions of animals and plants possible to exist on Earth 25 MY after humankind. It is well-developed and has a vast database, but it needs more illustrations. If you have a wish and an opportunity to collaborate this project, send me messages to sivatherium@land.ru (Pavel I. Volkov)

To learn more about this project you may here:

You may choose and draw any animal and plant you like. The main term is the correspondence of its appearance and coloration to the existing description. Style and technique are also as you wish, but realism is preferable.

Best snail drawing ever. I love the detail you used. It perfectly captures the essence of a snail XD

Gastropods are among the most versatile of mollusks with terrestrial and aquatic species, as well as herbivorous and predatory species. With this versatility and the variety we have today, it'd be interesting what they'd produce after twenty-five million years.

lovely! very original, too. but how would the snail inflict a sting? does it break off the tip of its' shell like a nettle, or does it have an extendable pharynx tipped with a dart? does it have minuscule stingers all along its' skin like a jellyfish? it is a beautifully shaded drawing and a wonderful style, and a reply would be much appreciated. keep up the good work!
